      Reorder Paragraph Practice Tips

These tips help you identify the first sentence, follow the logical sequence, and connect ideas correctly. Using these strategies makes it easier to place all sentences in the right order.

      Read all boxes quickly first

Start by reading every text box to understand the general idea. This helps your mind form a rough picture of how the paragraph should flow before you begin arranging it.

      Identify the topic sentence

The first sentence usually introduces the main idea and does not refer back to anything. It does not start with pronouns like he, she, this, these or linking words that depend on earlier information.

      Look for logical connections

Check how ideas connect from one box to the next. Cause-effect, problem-solution, or general-to-specific patterns often help you identify the correct order.

Pay attention to pronouns and references

Sentences with words like he, she, it, they, these cannot come first. These words refer to something mentioned earlier, so they must appear after the topic sentence.

Match linking words to the flow

Words like however, therefore, moreover, and later indicate the position of the sentence. They usually show contrast, result, addition, or sequence, which helps you arrange the text correctly.

      Use key words for clues

Look for repeated words, similar terms, or related ideas that link two sentences. These connections help you decide which text boxes should stay together.

      Review your final order

After arranging the boxes, read the paragraph smoothly from top to bottom. If it feels logical, clear, and connected, your order is most likely correct.
